Vision
At SOMA, we envision a Somalia where every woman has access to skilled and compassionate midwifery care, regardless of her location or socio-economic status. We believe in a future where maternal and infant mortality rates are significantly reduced, and where midwives are recognized as essential pillars of the healthcare system.
Our Work
At Somalia Midwives Association (SOMA), we proudly represent a and dedicated community of over 3000 midwives across Somalia. As a trusted Professional Association, we specialize in providing technical consultations, capacity building initiatives, knowledge sharing platforms, and advocacy efforts aimed at promoting human rights and sustainability within the field of midwifery.
SOMA is recognized as an accredited non-governmental organization registered in Somalia, operating with a commitment to excellence and integrity. With a broad geographic scope and extensive networks in sexual, reproductive, maternal, newborn, and child health and rights, we strive to promote midwifery profession to advance the midwifery standards of care and advocate for the well-being of women, newborns, and families throughout Somalia
